- Bambu Lab AMS is an intelligent system that communicates with the tool head to ensure smooth feeding and automatic filament switching in the middle of the print. It can detect filament tension and actively adjust the feed rate. Using RFID technology, the Bambu Lab AMS identifies the filament embedded inside and automatically configures the most appropriate print settings.

- Equipped with moisture sensors and an airtight housing, the Bambu Lab AMS keeps the fiber dry and ready for use, which is especially useful for technical materials such as nylon and polycarbonate that are hydroscopic.

- Each Bambu Lab AMS consists of 4 fiber slots and up to 4 AMS can be installed in parallel. With multiple fiber slots, it is now possible to use removable support material or dissolvable fiber to minimize pain when removing supports

- Each AMS unit comes with 4 reusable coils (1 high temperature coil and 3 low temperature coils).

Remark:

1. AMS supports coils with a width of 50-68 mm and a diameter of around 200 mm. When operating the AMS, we recommend using Bambu Filament, which has been thoroughly tested to work with the AMS. If you purchase a single AMS unit, it will come with a thread buffer. If you plan to link multiple AMS units together, you will need to purchase an AMS Hub .

2. Avoid flexible materials with AMS, as they can jam. These include TPE, TPU or wet PVA. Glow-in-the-dark, particle-infused, or carbon or glass fiber fibers can be brittle and crack inside the AMS or be abrasive and prematurely wear out internal parts. However, BambuLabs PA-CF and PAHT-CF have been designed and tested to be compatible with AMS.

3. Please try to avoid using cardboard coils with AMS. The rollers inside the AMS control the rotation of the coils and do so through the friction created between the plastic edge of the coil and the rubber rollers. Cardboard coils provide minimal friction, may tear or have curled edges, and therefore slip or jam, causing failure or damage to the AMS.
