The extruder unit is equipped with two gears made of hardened steel for feeding the filament into the hotend. Hardened steel gears provide increased extrusion force, prevent slippage and increase abrasion resistance. These gears allow the extruder unit to work with durable technical fibres such as carbon fibre nylon and glass fibre nylon.The extruder unit is also equipped with a filament cutter for unloading or switching filament and an extruder motor that supplies the required power for the extrusion process.
