High compatibility with multiple ports and mounting holes

The Hermit Crab hotend and tool changing system simplifies the assembly and changing of different tools on a 3D printer on a linear or V-profile rail.

Hermit Crab is available in two variants:

• Hermit Crab
• Hermit Crab CAN

In the regular version of Hermit Crab, the cables of all interfaces must be reconnected to the motherboard, the cable harnesses are scattered and numerous. Hermit Crab CAN integrates different cable harnesses into one cable that is easy to connect. Both variants are supplied with 3 Tool Plates. Regular Hermit Crab works with any firmware, Hermit Crab CAN works only with Klipper firmware.

Thanks to the various mounting holes and connections on the surface of the tool changer, various extruders (e.g. E3D Hemera Bowden) and other components (e.g. Ender 3 cooler). Interfaces for expansion functions can also include filament sensors, leveling sensors, stepper motors and fans.

In addition to printheads, various other tools can be connected. You can quickly and easily turn your printer into a laser cutter, plotter, laser engraver and other useful devices.

Quick tool change for efficient work

A single movement is all it takes to change the tool.

The fixed Hermit Crab plate remains connected to the rails, to which the tool plate is simply attached with the tool head fitted and secured with a spring clip.
